The engines that you'll find under the hoods of our new Honda lineup are all incredibly powerful and efficient, whether they're that of a capable Ridgeline truck or a compact Civic sedan. The engine is the core of the vehicle, and the automaker has expanded its manufacturing operations in China to increase production of this critical part.
A third line and engine plant were created at Honda's already existent ZengCheng facility as a response to the growing need for the automaker's vehicles in the greater Valencia area and all over the world. A ceremony was held in honor of the new eco-friendly facility, which boasts a production line that uses a solar power generation system with a 10,000 kilowatt-capacity.
The facility will be green in another way, too, with the automaker's new painting technology. It reduces the number of coats required per car, which saves time, materials, and energy.
But while they just held the ceremony, production won't actual commence until 2015. The facility will have an annual cap of 120,000 units, but after the first year, capacity will likely increase upwards of 240,000 units or more.
This level of growth means that we will have a steady supply of high-quality vehicles that meet your driving needs and budget at Barber Honda here in Bakersfield, CA for years to come, and we couldn't be more thrilled by this development.
In the meantime, we have a great selection of vehicles that are just waiting for you to take them out for a spin. Come down and test drive the Honda of your choice today!
