ACEEE Gives Drivers from Bakersfield One More Reason to Love Honda

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) recently posted its "greenest vehicles of 2013" list, and Honda stood out with 5 different models making the cut.  All of these new vehicles are recognized for demonstrating superior environmental achievements.  The manufacturer has worked extremely hard over the past few years to ensure that its lineup excels in efficiency without sacrificing performance, and here at Barber Honda we are very proud to see that these vehicles have earned such high ratings.

Among the top-ranked vehicles available this year is the Honda Fit EV, an all-electric car that requires zero trips to the pump and produces zero emissions.  These qualities land the car in second place on the list, with two other Honda hybrids not far behind: the Civic Hybrid and the Insight.

A few more positions down on the list lie the sub-compact Honda Fit and the Odyssey minivan. While neither are hybrid or EV models, both offer stellar efficiency and performance within their respective classes.

But how exactly does the ACEEE measure greenness?  Each model's score is determined by measurements of emissions and the car's overall fuel economy. That said, we're not surprised that this is the 15th year straight that a few different Honda models have been included in this index of top performers for green initiatives and fuel efficiency.

Obviously, keeping their fleet as green as possible is an important goal for Honda, and their environmental slogan of "Blue Skies for our Children" really drives that point home.  Honda strives for excellence in all aspects of its operations and understands how important it is that reducing greenhouse gas emissions has a place in their larger vision.
