How to Respond to a Recall

From time to time, car manufacturers (or the NHTSA) will issue a recall. At Barber Honda, we’re dedicated to helping you with a recall in Bakersfield. When a recall is issued, it is because there is some kind of safety concern with particular models and model years.

Some recalls are mandatory while others are voluntary. You will, usually, get a postcard or letter in the mail stating that your vehicle has been affected by the recall. However, if you don’t, you will be alerted that there is a recall on your vehicle the next time you bring it in for service.

Recalls will be paid for by the manufacturer. They may need to tighten something, replace something or even add an additional part. Most of the time, recall repairs are done at no cost to you. Once you know that there is a recall out there for your car, you want to get it into the dealership as soon as possible.
