The 2018 Honda Accord Stands Out Even More With New Looks, Turbocharged Engines

While we—and our local drivers—are fans of the current version, the 2018 Honda Accord is arriving all-new. Along with it comes new looks, new engines, new technology, and a more spacious cabin full of the appointments you’ve come to appreciate from the brand. But as for how this all-new midsize sedan raises the bar, read on.

If you’re a fan of the tapering roof of the latest Civic, the fastback shape of the 2018 Accord will speak to you, too. Although some may think the lower roof has compromised passenger capacity, the upcoming 2018 Accord will offer 2.5 more cubic feet in all the right areas. The dual-dash setup is gone, replaced by a top-mounted screen.

But the real story is the engines. While many loved the V6, it’s being replaced by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four that will bolster efficiency as well as acceleration. It will have 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque sent to the front wheels by either a continuously-variable transmission, or a six-speed manual. The base engine is a 1.5-liter turbo unit with a uniform 192 horsepower and torque rating.
