#HondaRoadReaders: New App Takes the Stress Out of Family Drive

“But you said it was my turn to pick the next movie,” your son whines from the backseat. You glance in the rearview mirror to see him and your older daughter struggling over the DVD player. Feet kick seats, cries are issued and finally, in a moment of desperation, your little guy bites his older sister’s arm.

Traveling with children can be tiring and oftentimes frustrating. It’s hard for them, too. Being stuck in a seat when your body is made for movement is an exercise in vexation.

Honda recognizes that parents are concerned about the amount of time their children spend on average plugged into screens. According to a news article via the BBC, kids are using screens more than six hours each day. That’s a lot!

In order to make a car trip pleasant and encourage kids to unplug, Honda has released a new app for kids. It’s called Honda Road Readers and is available free to Honda drivers only. It allows kids to listen to audiobooks, using their imagination and critical-thinking skills and making the drive more pleasant for everyone.

Here at Barber Honda, we’d love to hear your take on this app. Please stop by and visit our dealership and service center here in Bakersfield, California, soon. We look forward to meeting you.
