Honda commits to the environment with new configurations of its upcoming Clarity series

Honda has made a major commitment to the environment. Its "Blue Skies for our Children" initiative aims to cut its CO2 emissions across the company by 50 percent by the year 2050. Now this is a major goal for Honda, but it is also one that Honda is actively working towards with its upcoming model year of the Honda Clarity.

The 2017 Honda Clarity series is poised to shift the paradigm of environmentally friendly cars in the market today. In addition to releasing the Honda Clarity Fuel Cell later this year, Honda announced in a press release last week that it will also be producing a Clarity Plug-In Hybrid and a Clarity Electric for release in 2017. This is a major move for Honda and the auto industry, as there has never been a plug-in hybrid, electric, and fuel cell vehicle configurations all jointly based on the same model architecture.

In addition to its extensively configurable power sources, the Clarity Series will feature a comprehensive suite of driver assist technologies, safety, and convenience features. Though the first models of this new year of the Clarity Series won't be out until late 2016, it is already shaping up to be one of the most versatile and eco-friendly vehicle lines on the market.
