Honda Clarity Redesign Unveiled at Tokyo Motor Show

Next spring, Honda will launch the next generation of its Clarity hydrogen fuel cell car in the United States. While its introduction will be again limited to California, it boasts a level of technology and refinement as of yet unseen in an H2-powered car. It was unveiled Tuesday at the Tokyo Motor Show, and we'd like to take some time to tell you about it.

The first iteration of the Clarity bowed in 2008, as the first-ever production hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. Now, Honda is taking that to the next level. The new car boasts 300 miles of all-hydrogen range, and quite a bit of power under the bonnet.

The question on a lot of peoples' minds is when this car will be arriving at a dealership near them. Unfortunately, its release will be limited to here in California for the time being, where there are an abundance of hydrogen refueling stations. Chances are they will become more widespread once the Department of Energy's H2USA program takes off.

We'll keep you in the loop about whether this new Honda will be making it to our Bakersfield, CA location. In the meantime, browse our inventory online to learn more about what we have in store.
