Honda Fit Hybrid Wins Coveted Car of the Year Award in Japan

If you're looking for the next big thing in the culinary world, you might keep an eye on Vietnam or even Korea. Perhaps you're after the best new wine locale on the international scene; then you might look south to Argentina. If you're interested in an ecofriendly automobile, well, Japan is still your best bet.

Accordingly, the annual "Japan Car of the Year" is almost always a greener kind of vehicle and 2013 is no exception as the Honda Fit Hybrid snagged the top spot this time around. Taking place in a nation that is known as the harbinger for hybrid technology, the competition was clearly intense. All the big names and major models were there, but after what was surely a lengthy period of consideration, the panel of experts found the Fit to be the best game in town.

While we enjoy celebrating all of Honda's achievements in our Bakersfield, CA showroom, we can't say that our Barber Honda staff was completely caught off guard by this news. After all, this is the 12th time that our favorite brand took the prize. As they continue to expand their lineup of ecofriendly vehicles with additions like the Accord Hybrid and the Civic Hybrid, Honda seems to have a bright future ahead of them when it comes to Car of the Year Nods in their home country.

Here in our Valencia area Honda dealer, we don't have the global hybrid edition of the winning model, but if you're looking to cut your emissions down to zero we can hook you up with a Honda Fit EV.

Stop into our showroom today and we'd be happy to show you our range of ecofriendly new Honda models.
